Annie Hibberd is a London and Devon based photographic artist. Gaining a BA in Photography from London College of Communication, UAL, in 2019. Achieving a mentorship award with Metro Imaging for her degree show work ‘Hard Skin’.

Throughout her work there is a strong connection to the landscape, exploring the delicate form and intricate detail nature holds. Rooting from environmental issues and the relationships between human and nature, the effects we have on the natural world and what effects it has on us and how we can preserve the land. Growing up in Japan has influenced notions of ‘Wabi Sabi’ within everyday life and is translated throughout her practice, ‘the acceptance of imperfection’.

Hand dyeing fabrics with food waste and natural matter combined with Japanese resist dye techniques. Creating unique marks and patterns, exploring the contrast between nature against rigid grids and lines.
